It's important that you consider getting your attics and roofs covered with radiant barrier foils. The part of your home directly exposed to the sun's heat will be your roof. The attics are the parts which exist directly below your roof and would be one of the major contributors of heat to your homes.

It's a known fact that the roofs are exposed directly to the fierce rays of the scorching sun and a major amount of the heat travels through the roof to the attic. From there the heat is just spread into the cooler areas and makes your home hotter during summers. This is where radiant barrier foils come into play they reduce the radiant heat transfer from under the roof and in surfaces of the attic.  Radiant barrier can aid in reducing the attic temperature by 30 degrees.

The important factors that should exist in the radiant barrier foil is that they must not allow a lot of heat to get transferred by having low emissive property and the ability to reflect more heat out. Also the angles at which reflection and emission occurs are important, it's appreciable if it occurs at right angles, as it makes the home more efficient.

So one can see that radiant barrier foils when used in conjuction with proper levels of insulation and ventilation, can be an effective solution to conserve energy, the fact is many people are still not aware of this solution. Once installed, one can easily see drastic changes in their energy bills and also find their homes to be much more comfortable for all seasons.
